The Pousada dos Ofícios looks like a single-storey restored colonial house from the street, but when you enter the reception area of the hotel, you realize that it extends back and down below street level. It is built into the hillside but fully open on three sides. This ingenious design provides a refuge from city noise, total privacy, and great views of the green hills behind.
Opened in March 2009, the name of the inn is a tribute to the craftsmen of the city, past and present, and the interior decor is a constant reference to that. Antique furniture, art and crafts, and the tools of the trade - hammers, chisels and antique sewing machines - decorate the space. Complete with a breakfast room, where you can taste the traditional family recipes prepared by the owner, the inn is strategically located on four floors. Windows, French doors, and skylights provide natural light. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped.
The owners of the Pousada dos Ofícios, Leonardo and his mother Cecilia, leave most of the daily functioning of the hostel to their friendly and competent staff. His philosophy of "our family serving your family" is linked to the excellent service customer, which is always evident. They are often on site greeting and talking with guests, especially during the traditional breakfast, which served daily in the elegant lounge.
